Backed by our roots in steel and metal, we support companies across diverse industrial sectors, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Founder Mark Smulders combines years of hands-on experience with entrepreneurship and management expertise. He contributes actively on the shop floor and personally supervises on-site execution where required.
Mark Smulders — A life in steel and entrepreneurship
Mark Smulders grew up within the Smulders family, renowned for the Smulders Group and its long-standing history in the international steel and metal construction industry. His career began at an early age on the shop floor, where he gained extensive practical experience in welding, structural steelwork, and assembly operations.
Alongside his practical experience, Mark deepened his technical expertise through specialized training in weld inspection and non-destructive testing (VT, MT, and UT, Levels 1 and 2). He also completed training in technical drafting using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD. This technical background enables him to accurately assess engineering challenges and work alongside specialists on the shop floor to deliver practical solutions.
In Poland, Mark built a substantial steel construction company from the ground up. There, he gained extensive experience in executive management, production processes, quality control, and workforce organization. He mastered bridging technical execution with scheduling, operational management, and the daily reality of international projects.
Today, Mark brings his technical knowledge, practical experience, and entrepreneurial background together at Solidny. As owner, he is personally involved with clients, the selection of skilled specialists, and the onboarding and support of international personnel. He also undertakes full project management assignments in the Netherlands and internationally. When required, he is present on-site, providing hands-on input on the shop floor and working alongside the team to deliver practical solutions.

During active projects, we remain available 24/7 for urgent inquiries and critical matters requiring immediate attention.
